JAS Forwarding was chosen to provide comprehensive logistics services for the Art and Accessories of The Venetian Macao, a mega hotel resort located in Macao’s Cotai Strip
Offering a fantasy world of gaming excitement, romantic charm, and lavish luxury, this 40-story, $1.8 billion mega structure is positioned to become Asia’s premier casino resort. Fully owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corp, The Venetian features the world’s largest casino, is home to 350 top retail stores, 30 world class restaurants, over 3,000 suites, a deluxe spa, sports arena, and one of Asia’s largest meeting, exhibition, and convention centers.
JAS Forwarding, in conjunction with TMG (Trans-Marketing Group), was commissioned with the handling, delivery, and installation of over 10,000 pieces of priceless art from around the world, including the United States, Pakistan, South Africa, and China. "A tight timeframe of only 45 days from origin to installation, precise timing and seamless logistics coordination, in conjunction with the careful handling required when moving art, were all of essence for the success of the project," states Stephane Jarmache, JAS USA West Coast Regional V.P.
The first phase of the project consisted of outfitting a luxury area which played host to Manchester United for their friendly match with Shenzhen on July 23. With the Grand Opening scheduled for August 28th, the second phase of the project proved even more challenging. JAS Forwarding worked closely with The Venetian and the United States design company Wilson Associates to ensure timely handling, sorting, and proper placement of the art and accessories for over 116 suites, 100 hospitality and VIP rooms, and numerous reception desks and public space areas.
"Coordinating the logistics for an 11 million square foot hotel is no easy task," remarked Matthew Daines, Venetian Director of Operations Planning. "It was extremely difficult to find a logistics partner who could combine all aspects of such a large and intricate project on such short notice. JAS rose to the occasion and successfully took the lead, showing flexibility and dedication to getting the job done," continued Daines. The Venetian Macao is the anchor hotel of a series of seven mega resorts along the Cotai Strip. Fomented by Macao’s opening of the gaming and related industries, a strong local demand, and increased foreign investment, it seems the future of hospitality logistics shines bright, and JAS, with its proven track record of over 20 successful years in the region, is set to take on the challenge.
